Singer-songwriter Maisie Peters has secured her second consecutive UK number one album, narrowly beating the late Michael Jackson to the top spot.

The artist, who has supported the likes of Coldplay, Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift, topped the Official Albums Chart with Florescence, which was released on May 22.

It comes almost three years after the History Of Man singer reached number one with her 2023 record The Good Witch.

Peters, 26, said: “I’m really proud of myself and for the team, everyone worked really hard.

“Michael Jackson tried, but he couldn’t come up against the real M-dog.”

Jackson takes second spot with his greatest hits compilation The Essential and fifth place with Thriller.

The recent success of both albums comes amid a surge in popularity for his music after the release of the Michael biopic in cinemas.

Canadian rapper Drake, 39, has been knocked from the summit to third place with Iceman, which saw him collaborate with artists including 21 Savage, Molly Santana and Future.

Olivia Dean’s critically acclaimed second studio album The Art Of Loving is fourth, dropping down a spot from the previous week.

Singer Michael Ball has secured his 15th Top 10 album with Glow at number nine.

The late Bob Marley’s Legend takes the 29th spot after the 45th anniversary of the Could You Be Loved singer’s death.

US pop star Olivia Rodrigo, 23, scoops this week’s highest new entry on the Official Singles Chart with The Cure – the second single from her third studio album, you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love.

Dean, 27, and Sam Fender, 32, secure their 13th non-consecutive week at the top with Rein Me In, which won the Song of the Year with Mastercard at the 2026 Brit Awards.

Jackson, who died in 2009 at the age of 50, is at number three with Billie Jean, while Chemical Brothers’ Go and Tame Impala’s Dracula take the fourth and fifth spots respectively.
