Manchester City have the Premier League title in sight after their comprehensive win over Newcastle moved them a step closer — but Liverpool continue to apply pressure.
Jurgen Klopp's side had to come from behind to beat Aston Villa on Tuesday to move level on points, but City remain at the summit due to their superior goal difference. The Blues have the opportunity to restore their three-point lead on Wednesday when they face Wolves.
As the league campaign draws to a close, City remain in pole position to regain the title with their Merseyside rivals forced to rely on any slip-up to fulfil their hopes of a quadruple. Going into the final three matches of the campaign, Pep Guardiola has a selection headache after injuries have emerged in his defence, with Ruben Dias becoming the latest casualty during the win over the Magpies.

Raheem Sterling returned to the scoresheet in the rout over Eddie Howe's side. But when MEN Sport asked readers to put themselves in the manager's shoes and select a line-up, they felt the England international shouldn't be risked ahead of this weekend's trip to West Ham
Here's the City team fans want to see face Wolves:
Goalkeeper - Ederson
Ederson maintains his place in the squad for the trip to Molineux. Although largely untroubled at the Etihad last time out, the 28-year-old made a crucial contribution with the score at 3-0 to deny Callum Wilson.
Defence - Joao Cancelo, Fernandinho, Aymeric Laporte, Oleksandr Zinchenko
Just one change from the back four that started on Sunday as Fernandinho replaces Dias. The Brazilian stalwart was the defender's replacement for the second half at Newcastle after injury struck.
Cancelo and Zinchenko both maintain their place in the starting line-up after enjoying success down the flanks for City. Guardiola admitted that Kyle Walker and John Stones will miss the rest of the season, while they are sweating over the fitness of Nathan Ake.
Midfield - Kevin de Bruyne, Rodri, Bernardo Silva
Bernardo Silva returns to the starting line-up for the fans, replacing Ilkay Gundogan, as Kevin de Bruyne and Rodri keep their places following their impressive performances last time out.
Attack - Riyad Mahrez, Phil Foden, Jack Grealish
Fans have opted for two changes up front as Riyad Mahrez and Phil Foden replace Gabriel Jesus and Sterling. Foden was a late introduction and picked up a goal against Newcastle, while the Algerian could return to the starting 11 for the first time since the Champions League exit to Real Madrid if fans get their way.
City fans' XI to play Wolves: Ederson; Cancelo, Laporte, Fernandinho, Zinchenko; De Bruyne, Rodri, Bernardo; Mahrez, Foden, Grealish.
