Darcy had been on trial at Swindon as he explored the possibility of joining the Wiltshire club and forging a career in first team football. He has now moved to the League Two side.
Taking to social media immeidately after the switch was confirmed, Darcy thanked all those at Wanderers who have helped him to progress as a player. He says he will never forget the memories made at the club where he came through the youth team ranks.
He wrote on Twitter: "I just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone involved in the club who helped me progress as a player, over the years! It was an honour to play for this football club and I will never forget the memories it has created! The club will always be close to me. Thank you."
The attacker has spoken further about the influence the Whites have had upon him and says the club have made him the player he is today. He is looking to take his what he has learned at Wanderers to the Robins, where he hopes to be challenging for promotion with.
Speaking to Swindon's YouTube channel, Darcy said: "Bolton made me the player I am today, obviously I had been there for many years. I just think it is the right step for me now and everything I’ve learned there, I think I can definitely bring to the team.
"Whether that’s creating – goals, assists – once I get going, I know I will shine.
“The sky is the limit. I think we can really push on. Obviously, everyone wants promotion – that is the aim and I wouldn’t put it past us.
“The lads are great. We just need to set the standards now in training week in, week out and as soon as the season comes, we go from there.”
