‘Madden’ sim has Cardinals beating Texans in 3-0 stinker

Many believe the Arizona Cardinals’ game in Week 11 against the Houston Texans will be a fun, high-scoring game. A simulation of the game in Madden NFL 24 says the opposite.

It was a stinker of a game. No touchdowns were scored, there was a missed field goal and the Cardinals won 3-0 behind a 25-yard, fourth-quarter field goal.

The first half of the simulation was almost all punts. The only two drives without punts ended in fumbles recovered by the defense. Texans linebacker Blake Cashman forced James Conner to fumble and recovered it.

On the ensuing possession, Budda Baker forced Devin Singletary to fumble and recovered it.

The Texans missed a 46-yard field goal in the third quarter, which led to the Cardinals’ 25-yard kick to score the only points of the game.

After both teams punted again, the Texans’ last drive ended with an interception by rookie cornerback Garrett Williams.

Kyler Murray completed 18-of-30 passes for 173 yards. Texans QB C.J. Stroud, No. 2 in the NFL in passing yards, was held to 170 yards and an interception on 15-of-31 attempts.

Devin Singletary led the Texans with 52 rushing yards on 17 carries.

James Conner had only 33 yards on 13 attempts.

Dennis Gardeck had two sacks for Arizona and Zaven Collins added one.

Murray was sacked only once, the first play of the game.

Rondale Moore was the game’s leading receiver with five catches for 72 yards.
