Eagle-eyed customers have discovered the new location before opening after spotting a sign with its iconic pink branding and impressive floral display in the heart of the Cathedral Quarter.

It would appear that their new location is taking up shop in what was formerly the Hill Street Hatch which announced its closure earlier this month.

After a year in business, owners Ryan Crown and Ema O'Kane decided to close up shop after feeding over 30,000 since they opened.

They said: "A real highlight of the year has been the people we’ve met and worked with, so we simply want to say a big thank you to everyone who has supported us.

"From our fellow business owners in the Cathedral Quarter providing us with invaluable knowledge and know-how, our colleagues and mentors on Ignite NI’s Propel programme, or the eight amazing entrepreneurs that trusted us to help launch their big idea in Hill Street Hatch - we’re so thankful for your trust, support and talent."

Ice-cream lovers have been sharing their excitement on social media as Mackles teased their new location by asking customers to guess where they would be setting up shop next and with many guessing Belfast, those with a sweet tooth are in for a treat.
