Macklemore opened for Ed Sheeran at MetLife with ‘Free Palestine’ plea, now he’s subject to IAC petition to drop him from the rest of the tour

The Israeli-American Council is officially calling for Macklemore to be removed from the remainder of Ed Sheeran’s tour following a controversial performance at MetLife Stadium, as reported by Deadline. This move comes after the rapper used his opening set on Friday night to deliver a public plea for the liberation of Palestine and perform his protest track, Hind’s Hall.

The petition argues that the concert environment is not the place for such statements. It states, “This was an Ed Sheeran concert – not a political rally, not a protest, and not an activist event.” The organizers behind the petition emphasize that they aren’t questioning the right to hold personal political views. Instead, they are focused on the appropriateness of using a global concert platform to push what they describe as “a one-sided political agenda.”
