Five people including two children have died in a horror crash on the M6 in Cumbria.
The collision happened around 4.05pm on Tuesday, on the M6 northbound past Tebay Services, and involved a Toyota and a Skoda.
A man, woman, and two children from Glasgow who were travelling in the Toyota died at the scene, said Cumbria Police.
A man from Cambridgeshire who had been driving the Skoda also died at the scene.
A third child who had been a passenger in the Toyota was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle with serious injuries.
“The families of those involved are being supported by specially trained officers,” said a police spokesperson on Wednesday morning.
“The M6 Northbound full reopened in the early hours of this morning.”
