The M4 westbound near Bristol will be closed overnight for seven hours tonight. The stretch of the motorway from junction 19 to junction 20 on the westbound carriageway will be closed to allow for structural maintenance to take place.
From 11pm tonight (Wednesday, March 30) to 6am (Thursday, March 31), the stretch of the M5 will be closed to all vehicles and a diversion route must be followed.
The diversion will take you via the M32, A4174 and A38 to M5 junction 16. The diversion for the eastbound exit will take you via M4 to junction 19, M32 where you can follow the diversion.

Motorists planning to use the M4 westbound tonight should plan their journeys in advance. It is expected to take motorists longer than usual to complete the same journey.
Elsewhere, the M4 Prince of Wales Bridge eastbound carriageway is also closed overnight for bridge maintenance. This includes a westbound safety lane closure.
The closure on the M4 Prince of Wales Bridge will be in place from 9.01pm tonight and last until 6am tomorrow morning. Motorists will be diverted via the M48 Severn Bridge.
