Marks and Spencer has launched a funky reusable bag and customers love it already.
The high street retailer's new tote bag is made from 99 per cent recycled materials and features a multi-coloured design created by artist Yinka Ilori. This is the second time M&S has partnered with the London-based artist to bring style to sustainability, previously launching a carrier bag that went down a treat with shoppers.
Available in all UK M&S stores from today, the large bag features a strap, zipper, handles and inside pocket. It costs £8 and can be used for more than just groceries, with shoppers calling it their next "go-to beach bag".
Unveiling the new accessory on Marks and Spencer's Instagram on Tuesday, its caption read: "We’re SO excited to announce our second collaboration with @yinka_ilori.
"Our new reusable fashion bag (made out of 99 per cent recycled materials), created in partnership with the London-based artist, is designed in the style of a tote bag featuring a strap, zip and inside pocket.
"Get yours in store today!"
The launch of the lifestyle tote bag follows the success of a reusable colourful carrier bag unveiled by the retailer back in January, which has sold over 700,000 times. The latest design will be available in M&S Clothing & Home and Food stores across the country for £8, with the carrier also still on sale.
Inspired by his memories of working at M&S and dreaming up designs on his route home through a local park, Ilori’s distinctively bold and colourful artwork pays tribute to the “dreamer inside all of us”. The latest design proudly displays Yinka Ilori’s name, as well as his mantra - dream loud so the world can hear - on the strap.
Shoppers who've already gotten their hands on the tote are praising its "sturdy" design. In the comments, one happy customer wrote: "I bought one [in] your Carmarthen store last week and it’s now my go-to beach bag; it holds so much & the inside pocket is very useful.
"Love the colours & different length handles; a well designed bag."
A second commented: "I’ve got these bags and the larger one is AMAZING!! Fits LOADS in and is super sturdy." Others eager to get their hands on the tote "absolutely love" and think it's "so cool".
Both bags are available to buy in all UK stores now, but is not available on the Marks and Spencer website.
