Marks and Spencer shoppers have fallen for a "beautiful" statement midaxi dress dubbed "perfect for a special occasion" after spotting it online.
Founded in 1884, famed British retailer M&S remains a firm favourite feature on the high street, thanks to its wide range of stylish clothing, accessories, homeware, beauty supplies, furniture and more.
Like many of its competitors, the popular retailer utilises social media to keep shoppers updated on all the newest stock and product drops.

M&S has amassed millions of followers across its Instagram pages, while many of its staff members also manage Instagram pages of their own. Branded 'M&S insiders' on the hit social media platform, they share styling tips and advice, as well as outfit ideas to offer inspiration to shoppers.
Recently, 'M&S insider' Sam Briones caused a stir among her 24.7K Instagram followers after sharing an Instagram photo and Reels video showcasing the retailer's Floral V-Neck Midaxi Tiered Dress, which costs £49.50.
The dress comes in a regular fit in ivory fabric, with a bold green floral print, voluminous, three-quarter length puff sleeves and a tiered skirt. It's finished with a v-neck and midaxi-length hem. It can be purchased here.
Midaxi dresses remain popular among fashion lovers, especially now the summer season is here. A range of retailers offer a variety of options, also in blue. Budget-friendly fast fashion brand Boohoo has a vast mix of styles to choose from, while online retail giant ASOS stocks a variety of floral occasion dresses to choose from.
Captioning the image of the Marks and Spencer dress on Instagram, Sam said: "All the drama with this bold dress for that special occasion. I took the opportunity to do a wee shoot this weekend at this location as this stunning dress deserved this stunning backdrop. I adore this v-neck tiered dress, the detail at the back is particularly eye catching & the floral pattern brings and elegant element. I’m 5’2 and this is how it looks on me."
The dress proved popular among social-media-using fashion lovers, racking up hundreds of likes. Shoppers shared their thoughts in the comments section.
Deborah said: "That dress is beautiful…! And it looks lovely on you!!!" Jane said: "You look beautiful I have this dress but haven't had anywhere to wear it to yet". Annabelle added: "This is absolutely stunning. Perfect for a special occasion! Don't know if it would be a bit too white for a wedding guest look".
But the only review on Marks and Spencer's website advises caution. The customer penned: "The second 'tier/section' line is in an unflattering spot it could do with not being there, it creates quite a square look on the torso. The fabric is so very light but not see through and the back tie detail is at the bra strap spot meaning you don't have to go braless in this dress", and selected the option "no" when it comes to recommending the dress.
