The M&S Bank Arena has issued a statement regarding Sunday's (January 29) part-evacuation.
The Darkness were one song into their co-headlined concert with Black Cherry at the waterfront venue when audience members were evacuated. The arena has now explained this was due to an issue with a pyrotechnic used in the show.
An ACC Liverpool spokesperson told the ECHO: "On Sunday night, as The Darkness started their set at the arena, there was a minor incident with one of the pyrotechnics in the show which triggered a partial evacuation. The issue was resolved quickly and we were able to restart the show. The safety of the audience, staff and performers is always our primary concern."

The ECHO's Cheryl Mullin attended the concert and said the house lights were turned on one song into the show. A message of "there is an emergency in the building, please leave by the nearest exit" was relayed to those in attendance, while the band's microphones were cut off.
The band put their instruments down before The Darkness' lead singer Justin Hawkins came to the front of the stage and gestured at people to leave. Cheryl said there was no panic and the crowd remained in a good mood, though people were "a bit bewildered" at what had happened, with some thinking it was part of the show.
A fire extinguisher was seen being used on a lighting rig. However, there was just over 20 minutes between the alarm sounding and the show restarting, with the remainder of the concert passing without incident.
