Lyle Taylor is "unlikely" to join Birmingham City permanently from Nottingham Forest, according to reports.
The 32-year-old has proved to be a success at St Andrew's since joining from Forest on-loan in January. Five goals in 13 starts – three in his first four games – combined with a series of impressive displays have made him Lee Bowyer ’s first choice striker, propelling him ahead of the likes of Scott Hogan, Troy Deeney and Lukas Jutkiewicz.
Bowyer had made suggestions that Blues would like to retain the striker beyond the summer, but one major stumbling block seems to have put that idea onto the back seat.

According to The Athletic, Taylor is unlikely to have his move from the City Ground turned permanently with the claim that the former Charlton striker's wages are "out of reach".
Blues finish their season against Blackburn Rovers this weekend, after which Taylor is due to return to the City Ground. They will do so against a backdrop of uncertainty about Bowyer’s position, with the head coach set for a meeting with the club’s hierarchy on Monday.
Due to EFL regulations, Taylor - who still has a year left on his current deal - will be unable to feature for Forest in their play-off campaign once he returns to Trentside.
