The dog-friendly hotel has 47 bedrooms ranging from comfy to comfy luxe rooms to a two-storey apartment and 4 self-contained lodges. It has a main season from April to end of October but retains a permanent team year-round and attracts visitors and groups from all over the world as well as regular visitors who come year after year.
Now, with a busy summer ahead, the stunning hotel is offering live-in positions to those who can move to the island to work for them.
They're currently recruiting for Guest Service Managers, whose job it is to welcome guests from the moment they arrive to showing them to their bedroom and helping them plan their stay and activities.
You will also take bedroom reservations, lunch dinner reservations, spa bookings and assist with general queries. Job responsibilities also include planning ahead to know who the guests are that are arriving as well as looking after guests requiring assistance during their stay, resolving any issues that arise and overseeing guest transport.
Benefits include a Team Loyalty Recognition Incentive Scheme worth up to £2,000, a 50% discount on Restaurant food, use of the hotel gym, and discounted membership of the Islay Golf Club.
For those who would be moving to the island to work, the hotel asks for "a nominal accommodation contribution of £52.85 per week". All staff are provided with their own bedroom but share communal facilities, mostly with one other person.
The job listing states: "When you’re not working there is much to enjoy such as walking, hiking, sea kayaking, cycling, bird watching, investigating the history of Islay, wildlife sea tours, whisky distillery visits or indeed making the most of the hotel golf facilities and the hotel’s 7 miles of sandy beach.
"We know island life is not for everyone, but if you don’t need the bright lights to be entertained, and instead can equally enjoy a simpler life appreciating nature’s glorious gifts then why not apply today?"
