TUMI is best known for its luxury luggage, favoured by celebrities like Jennifer Anniston and Angelina Jolie but launched a range of fragrances in 2020.
The name ‘Tumi’ comes from a Peruvian ceremonial knife. Founder Charlie Clifford, a former Peace Corp volunteer and importer of leather bags from South America believed people become emotionally bonded to their luggage as they travel.
Tumi became known for adding a special metal plate to their bags – bearing a unique 20-digit registration number which ensures that, once customers have registered their contact details, these are entered into a central database so they can be reunited with their bag if they lose it.
The TUMI Site will be located at the entrance of department store John Lewis and goes live on December 13. It will run until December 23.
