Luxury £2.5m home with panoramic views could be yours for £10

A £2.5m luxury mansion could be yours for £10 after the owners have decided to put it on the market.

The property is in the Lake District near Lake Windermere and Ambleside, and is being raffled off for £10 a ticket with money raised going towards Dogs Trust. The winner will not only claim the home but also £100,000 in cash to help them settle in.

The beautifully finished five-bedroom farmhouse is set across eight acres of land offering incredible 360-degree panoramic views. It comes mortgage free with all stamp duty and legal fees covered and the winner is free to either live in the house, rent it out or sell it.

An estate agent estimates that the property could bring in £3,000 a month for long-term renters or more if it is a holiday let.

The stunning home is in the heart of the national park and is surrounded by glorious scenery. There is a tree lined garden with an extended patio area built on original farmyard cobbles for the winner to explore.

The 18th-century property has been renovated to feature all mod cons while still retaining its original features. The sitting room is set on original Lakeland stone flags, with window seats offering more picturesque views down the South Lakeland Valley.

An atrium-style hallway leads into the hub of the home, an open plan, a bespoke kitchen that sits on a Cumbrian oak floor leading onto a substantial dining area.

An open fire in the living area adds to the cosy, welcoming feel of the house. The main bedroom celebrates the surrounding countryside through the triple-aspect windows that provide a cascade of natural light.

There is an en-suite bathroom, with twin wash basins, a freestanding tub with shower and an accompanying dressing room all providing a sumptuous spa-like feel. The rural idyll also boasts a standalone guest suite with vaulted ceilings and its own kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, and living space. The plot also offers ample parking, stables, and a shed.

The money raised will help Dogs Trust to care for dogs in need, from those in distress who need special care, to those who need a loving home. The charity also provides help and guidance from training and behaviour experts to dog owners who need a helping hand.

Omaze has guaranteed a minimum donation of £100,000. Owen Sharp, chief executive of Dogs Trust, said: "We truly appreciate the generosity of the public and partners like Omaze, which enables us to carry out the incredible work we do for thousands of dogs each year from rehoming to rehabilitation."

James Oakes at Omaze added: "We’re honoured to be partnering with Dogs Trust for our brand new Lake District House Draw. By offering this incredible farmhouse, with £100,000 in cash, we’re not only giving people the chance to live mortgage and rent free for the rest of their life - but also raising money and introducing charities to brand new audiences."

The draw closes on December 26 for online entries and January 3, 2023, for postal entries.
