Lundstram 'kicked off the pitch' as Clement provides Rangers injury update

John Lundstram could be out of action until after the winter break, Rangers boss Philippe Clement has revealed.

The midfielder was on the opposing end of a rash challenge by St Johnstone's Diallang Jaiyesimi midway through the first half.

The on-loan Charlton striker was initially booked for the late foul, however, after the assistance of VAR, his card was upgraded to a red and he walked.

Lundstram was forced off at half time with the resultant injury - and it's emerged he could now miss the Old Firm derby against Celtic a week on Saturday.

And Clement was unhappy with St Johnstone's players for 'kicking him off the pitch'.

He said: "The bad thing is that again, a player is kicked off the pitch. We will need to give him a full assessment tomorrow and the day after to see how he is, but at first sight, it doesn't look good. I hope I can recover him before the winter break.

"That (the injury) was from the red card, clearly."

Kemar Roofe started the match but was forced off the field after just 15 minutes as he pulled up through injury.

His frustration was visible as he walked off the field by taking his jersey off and walking through up the tunnel. His replacement Cyriel Dessers scored Rangers' first of the night before James Tavernier rounded off the 2-0 win at Ibrox.

"He's really disappointed because he was coming back in a good way," the manager added. "He was training well and he's got minutes in the last couple of weeks. He was doing well and that's why I let him start.

"I spoke with him to see how he felt over the last couple of days and he felt really good - he felt ready to start. It's disappointing that he felt something again, which we're going to look at tomorrow."
