Lucy Spraggan 'ready to talk' about full X Factor experience in explosive memoir

Lucy Spraggan has promised to open up more than ever in her upcoming autobiography.

The singer who found fame on The X Factor in 2012 has been fairly honest about her life so far, but she teased that the memoir will go into great detail about what she experienced on the programme.

In recent months, several contestants from the former ITV show have spoken about their experience but Lucy admits that she's fed up with giving the "same concealed answer".

During an exclusive interview with The Mirror, when asked about The X Factor, Lucy said: "Wait until 2023 and read an entire chapter about it.

"Up until then, I'm pretty much done giving the same concealed answers, I'm ready to talk about that in-depth and how I moved on from that.

"It'll all be in my lovely little book, which isn't very little."

"There's nothing that I want to say that isn't going to be written in my book," she explained.

Last year, Lucy announced she was postponing the remainder of her tour but now, she revealed she "didn't want to" go on tour and the work became "too much mentally".

Despite putting her life onto paper, Lucy explained that she often finds it hard to write down certain times of her life, while at other times it can be "liberating".

She said: "It does mean that temporarily you like have to relive stuff that was quite stressful, but in the long run you get to deconstruct everything.

"I get to deconstruct all of my time on the show and everything that follows that, it's given me more respect for myself because I've just been pedalling for 10 years, and this has given me a moment, along with this album to like, reflect on it and say, 'Actually, I worked really hard'."

Previously, Lucy has shared her life on social media, including her marriage and later divorce but she says things would have been easier if it had been private.

She said: "I was writing a short part about Caroline Flack and how her life, there wasn't very much left to be private and I think I learnt when I was divorced in public, that some things will be a lot easier if they're kept closed.

"Then again, my book doesn't really hold anything back – it's the full story."

Discussing her tour which kicks off on May 4, she said: "This is my seventh album, so my seventh or sixth so big tour around the country.

"It just feels exciting and it hasn't felt exciting for a really long time, so I'm really excited for people to hear the new music because it's quite different.

"It's still very me but it's very different and it's all very emotional, I know that I'll cry on the tour."
