Harry Kane, Lucas Moura, Bryan Gil - Tottenham injury news and return dates ahead of Preston

Tottenham's hopes of achieving silverware this season will take either a significant step forward or step backwards today as they face Preston North End in the FA Cup fourth round. Spurs put back-to-back defeats against Arsenal and Manchester City behind them with a narrow victory over Fulham on Monday evening.

Away from the pitch, Antonio Conte's future continues to draw speculation with concerns still hanging over the Lilywhites' form this month. However, the club now have a chance to put together a cup run that could save current perceptions of their campaign.

Heading into the game, Tottenham have completed the loan signing of Arnaut Danjuma from Villarreal, who could make his debut against Preston, and are closing in on the signing of Pedro Porro from Sporting CP. The return of Rodrigo Bentancur, Dejan Kulusevski and Richarlison have boosted Spurs, but Conte is still missing a few players from his squad.

Harry Kane

After playing with a slight illness in the clash with Fulham on Monday evening, Harry Kane is now a doubt for Tottenham's FA Cup fourth round clash against Preston.

That illness appears to have gotten worse with assistant head coach Cristian Stellini, who oversaw the club's pre-match press conference in place of Antonio Conte, confirming the 29-year-old has only trained once this week.

What Cristian Stellini said: "We have only one problem, with Harry [Kane], because he played the last game full of illness. He didn’t train during the week, he trained this morning, but he wants to come with us and be available. We know very well that Harry wants to play every game, so we are happy that Harry is involved in the game, but the only situation we have to take care is this."

Return date: Available for Preston (A) January 28.

Lucas Moura

Brazilian forward Lucas Moura has been out with a tendon issue that continues to plague him throughout the season, with it currently being unknown when he will return.

The club confirmed on Friday Lucas would feature in their Premier League 2 North London Derby against Arsenal. The Brazilian played 45 minutes and found the back of the net in the 2-1 win.

What Conte has said: "Lucas Moura, this is the only critical situation because it's very difficult to understand if he is going to come quickly or we have to wait a long time."

Return date: Unknown

Bryan Gil

football.london understands that Gil was not part of the squad in Manchester after sustaining a knock in training leading up to the game.

Gil was also then absent for the clash against Fulham on Monday evening.

Return date: Unknown
