LSU's Jayden Daniels Exits Alabama Game, Enters Concussion Protocol After Taking Hit to Head

LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels dazzled Saturday evening as few quarterbacks ever have against Alabama.

The Heisman Trophy candidate was brilliant through the air and on the ground, throwing for 219 yards and running for 163. He tossed two scores and ran for a third as the Tigers entered halftime tied 21–21 with the Crimson Tide.

It was not to last, however. Daniels took a vicious shot to the head from Alabama linebacker Dallas Turner early in the fourth quarter, knocking him from the game. Shortly thereafter, CBS sideline reporter Jenny Dell informed viewers that Daniels’s evening was over—a damper on a game that unfolded like a classic in the making.

Daniels has thrown 27 touchdowns against four interceptions this season while running for 684 yards and six touchdowns. He leads the nation in passer rating and ranks third in passing yards per game.

LSU is scheduled to host Florida in its next game on Nov. 11.
