LPGA players revealed their favorite swings on tour — and one name kept coming up

At the LPGA Drive On Championship last week, the first full-field event of the season on tour, Golfweek asked several players to name their favorite swing on tour (outside of their own). Not surprisingly, one name kept popping up – Nelly Korda.

The hometown favorite would go on to win her ninth LPGA career title in a playoff against Lydia Ko in Bradenton, Florida. Danish player Nanna Koerstz Madsen even noted that she has used videos of Korda’s swing in the past to help her get into certain positions.

The No. 2 player in the world wasn’t the only name mentioned, of course. Here are the favorites:

Megan Khang

“I have always been a fan of Amy Yang’s swing – her swing and Hyo Joo (Kim). They are so smooth and so effortless and just so efficient.”

Celine Boutier

“Obviously, Nelly is known to have a really solid (swing), always very good positions. I kind of like Alison Lee’s swing, just very smooth and very simple.”

“Minjee (Lee) and Alison Lee. Alison Lee has been one of my favorites since I was a little kid; we grew up together on the AJGA. Her swing is so pure. Her tempo is great. She’s pretty hard on herself, but her swing is really nice. And Minjee’s is pretty perfect.”

“Minjee Lee. It’s just so nice and compact – where I want my swing to be. It just feels like whatever she does is not really going to go too far wrong.”

“Nelly. The way she does her elbow and her hips, that’s something I’m working on.”

“Jess Korda. I think she just moves the club beautifully. Obviously everyone talks about Nelly, and I think Nelly’s got an amazing swing as well, obviously, but I think Jess, technically, is as sound.”

“I mean Nelly’s is really hard to beat. It just looks so perfect. If you think of a textbook golf swing, it just looks so effortless, too. And she just smashes it.”

Cheyenne Knight

“I would say I really like InGee’s (Chun) swing. I think her tempo is amazing. I think Ronni (Ruoning Yin) has a great swing, just really aggressive, just smashes it and uses the ground well. Probably those two, but there’s a lot.”

Brittany Lincicome

“I think I’m going to go with Nelly. It just seems so in rhythm and flowing and free and beautiful.”
