A "kind and loving" man tragically slipped and fell five storeys to his death in front of his horrified girlfriend after a New Year's Eve night out.
The emergency services were called to the block at approximately 9.20am on January 1, following reports that a man had fallen from a building.
Kudzai-Anesu Ronald Maboreke, 23, was pronounced dead at the scene in Everton by paramedics, Liverpool Echo writes.
On March 31, Liverpool Coroner's Court heard how Maboreke had been out drinking with his friends before falling five storeys in the tragic accident.
Maboreke had been studying pharmacy at Liverpool John Moores University.
Coroner's officer Karen Gregory said that Maboreke had been out clubbing with friends to celebrate the New Year. #
He and his girlfriend, named in court as Cindy, went back to a friend's apartment at around 4am to carry on drinking.
At around 8.30am, the couple returned to Maboreke's apartment on Fox Street. The court heard that Cindy later told police that on their return to the apartment building, he had seemed 'agitated.'
Cindy said her partner had "slammed doors" and "kicked his shoes off".
She went out into a corridor to collect her boyfriend's shoes and when she went returned to the flat, Maboreke had ventured out onto a window ledge.
Ms Gregory said: "Cindy said 'its not safe' and to come back in. But as he turned to come back in he appeared to have slipped."
Ms Gregory said that Mr Maboreke died from chest and abdominal injuries. The student had a blood alcohol level of around 144 milligrams which although above the drink drive limit, was not "excessively high".
Mr Maboreke's aunt told the court that her nephew was 'an intelligent boy with a bright future.' His mother said that her son was both 'kind and loving.' She also said he was always keen to help his siblings and fellow students.
Anita Bhardwaj, area coroner for Liverpool and Wirral, said that Mr Maboreke's death was probably a "tragic accident".
Ms Bhardwaj said that Mr Maboreke , who was born in Zimbabwe, had a home address at Finningley Road in north Manchester. She said that the Liverpool John Moores student died on the morning of January 1 from chest and abdominal injuries after falling from a five storey building.
She said: "He was seen on the other side of the flat window on a narrow ledge. He went to come back in but slipped. It is unclear why he went onto the ledge but he intended to come back in but fell."
Ms Bhardwaj gave a verdict of accidental death and described the incident as "tragic".
