A man who died after he got into difficulty while swimming in a lake during the weekend heatwave may have hit his head while diving from a pier.
The man, who has been named locally as Samir Kaul, 49, was with friends when the horror tragedy struck just after 6.30pm on Saturday at Ballyalla Lake, just north of the town of Ennis, Ireland.
Samir, who is originally from India and lived in Ennis, was due to celebrate his 50th birthday in October.
