The family of Love Island star Tom Clare have spoken out after his co-star Zara Lackenby Brown implied that they would be 'ashamed' of his behaviour in the villa as he continues to juggle his attention between three girls.
Footballer Tom, 23, sent shockwaves through the villa when his secret kiss with Ellie became public knowledge among the rest of the islanders, including Zara and Olivia, who he had been flirting with in recent days.
Since the start of the series, Tom has had eyes for ring-girl Olivia, but his attention then wandered to Zara.
However, when blonde bombshell Ellie entered the villa last week, Tom's head turned once again - unbeknownst to his two former flames - which ended up with him and Ellie sharing a secret smooch on the terrace.
The secret has split the villa in half, with Olivia, Zara, and Shaq all calling Tom out - with Zara claiming that his family would be 'ashamed' of his treatment of women in the villa as he seemingly appears to jump from one girl to the next.
And following an explosive row between Tom and Zara, which resulted in the footballer angrily storming off from the other islanders and ripping off his shirt in a fury, Love Island fans also took to Twitter to criticise his behaviour, with hundreds of fans calling Tom 'childish'.
Following the backlash, Tom's family have broken their silence as they share their support for the Love Island star.
Tom's nearest and dearest have insisted that they are 'proud' of him no matter what.
Tom's sister Lara shared a photo of her and Tom with their parents, writing underneath: "We are always more than proud of you."
However, Love Island fans weren't as forgiving of Tom's antics as they flocked to social media to slam the islander.
"Tom's behaviour towards Zara is beyond aggressive," one complained.
"OMG! Tom acting like a seven-year-old ripping off his jacket?!!! He's a grown man. About time he starts acting like one," another fumed.
"Woahhhh Tom is really showing his true colours," someone else insisted, while a fourth complained: "I've got such an ick now. Tom, you've killed all your hotness with one massive strop."
Elsewhere, others defended Tom, claiming that Zara's comment about his family not being proud of him was below the belt.
"Zara is wrong. You never bring family into an argument," one Love Island fan insisted.
"Nah I would have reacted the same way!!! Zara is so argumentative and he told her to go away. She should have listened," someone else echoed.
Love Island continues on tonight on ITV2 and ITVX at 9pm.
