Scots Love Island star Paige Turley has completed London's half marathon after a gruelling few months of training for the event.
The 25-year-old, from West Lothian, had vowed to fundraise for Mental Health UK on behalf of her friend Jamie Aitchison's memory, after he tragically passed away due to suicide in December last year.
Paige, who was the winner of the ITV reality show winter series in 2020 with partner Finn Tapp, spoke highly of the "upstanding guy" who sadly lost his battle against mental health at the age of only 20.
She wrote on her Instagram after the event on Sunday: "Nursing the worst hangover today... celebrations for getting over the finishing line were in full swing yesterday," as she shared a sickness and laughing emoji.
"Thank you again for all the support... what a day for Jamie boy," as she added a blue heart and a link to her JustGiving page which is sitting at £3,800 donations with a £4,000 target.
In another post, she shared a delicious-looking feast from Dominos of a meaty pizza, wedges, chicken wings and cheesy bites.
"carb loading is truly needed today," she wrote as she shared a snap of the food with her fans.
Announcing the devastating news about Jamie last month, the Scots singer wrote: "In December last year my hometown sadly lost another friend, son, brother, grandson and upstanding guy, Jamie Aitchison aged 20, after he sadly lost his battle against the scourge of mental health.
"The tragic news has left a hole in many people's hearts with many in the community struggling to come to terms with the loss of Jamie, who was the light in a dark room."
"Unfortunately, this is news that is heard all too often with mental health reported to be effecting 1 in 4 people in the UK," she added.
"Therefore, I’ve decided to run the London Landmarks Half Marathon (22km) on April 2nd with all donations going towards ‘Mental Health UK’."
