Former Love Island star Paige Turley has thanked her loyal fleet of fans on social media for all their kind donations so far in memory of her late pal from her hometown in West Lothian.
The winner of the ITV winter series in 2020, with partner Finn Tapp, previously opened up on "upstanding guy" Jamie Aitchison as she revealed she would be running London's half marathon in his memory next month.
Paige, 25, set up a JustGiving page to raise vital funds for Mental Health UK after her friend Jamie passed away in December last year at the age if 20 when he lost the battle "against this scourge of mental health."
She has so far raised £1,345 of her £4,000 target despite only launching the fundraiser less than a week ago.
Paige said on Instagram: "Another session in the bag... one step closer to the half marathon.
"Thank you so much for the support so far, it's really appreciated. If you haven't already, take a read and if you can at all donate and share."
The blonde Scots beauty posted the message to her 1.6 million followers on Instagram alongside a snap of her and her other half, with her foot on top of a defeated Finn's stomach.
Paige appeared in good spirits in the snap, pictured laughing despite her gruelling fitness schedule in the run-up to the marathon in April.
Announcing the news, the Scots singer wrote: "In December last year my hometown sadly lost another friend, son, brother, grandson and upstanding guy, Jamie Aitchison aged 20, after he sadly lost his battle against the scourge of mental health.
"The tragic news has left a hole in many people's hearts with many in the community struggling to come to terms with the loss of Jamie, who was the light in a dark room."
"Unfortunately, this is news that is heard all too often with mental health reported to be effecting 1 in 4 people in the UK," she added.
"Therefore, I’ve decided to run the London Landmarks Half Marathon (22km) on April 2nd with all donations going towards ‘Mental Health UK’."
