Love Island's Paige Thorne is new favourite to be female winner

Welsh Love Islander Paige Thorne has become the new favourite to win the popular ITV2 dating show despite her single status, according to bookmaker Betfair. The 24-year-old paramedic has had a rocky start to the series, originally partnered with Luca Bish, whose attentions were turned by Gemma Owen. Last week, Paige told her fellow female Islanders that she was at the point of tears following her tumultuous first pairing.

In becoming the favourite to win, Paige (6/4) overtakes Tasha Ghouri, who is Love Island’s first deaf contestant. Whereas Paige’s first pairing has already ended, Tasha has continued to grow close to Andrew Le Page. Despite choosing Gemma over Paige, Luca has also become the new favourite to become the male winner of the show.

Sunday night’s episode of Love Island saw Paige go on a date with new Islander Jacques O’Neill (who used to date Gemma before appearing on the show) but it remains to be seen if sparks will fly between the two.

Betfair have released their odds on who they think will be the female winner of Love Island 2022. The betting company have also released odds on who will be Love Island's male winner, with Luca Bish taking the top spot.

Betfair spokesperson Sam Rosbottom said: “Despite being single, Paige Thorne is the new 6/4 favourite to be the female Love Island winner. Newcomer Jacques O’Neill is 3/1 to be the male winner, just behind frontrunner Luca Bish, who is 5/4 to go all the way. Meanwhile, Andrew Le Page and Tasha Ghouri’s relationship seems to be going from strength to strength, which has resulted in them being the new 9/2 favourites to be the villa’s winning couple.”
