Love Island 's Millie Court shows off her incredible transformation as she shared her battle with adult acne.
The 24-year-old, who won the ITV2 dating show with boyfriend Liam Reardon last year, has previously spoken about her skincare struggles, telling her 1.9 million followers about her breakout problems.
She has been teasing the possibility of sharing her journey in a video for her fans and fellow sufferers, and now she has finally released the first episode of her two-part series on YouTube.
Titled Get Unready With Me: Skin Edition Part 1, Millie shared a link to the video on her Instagram Stories, as she posted snaps of her during the worst part of her acne breakout.
“The video shows I went from this…” she captioned a shot of her face covered in painful red spots.
Millie then shared a selfie showing her make-up free skin looking noticeably clearer, writing atop the snap: “'To this [yellow heart]. My skin isn't perfect. I don't think it ever will be but I have come to accept that and I am happy.”
She encouraged her fans to watch the first part of the series, before warning them that it wasn’t “exciting and upbeat”.
Millie began the video by sharing details of how her adult acne began, as she revealed it started when she was 23, and it began with “just a couple of spots” before spreading across her face, developing into painful cystic spots.
"I was just so confused why I had it, what was going on. I had it for a while - it was six months probably. It was just getting progressively worse,' she explained.
She said she was grateful for the mask mandates across the UK, as wearing a face covering while out and about during and after lockdown helped cover up her spots.
“They were so painful, my face was just red all over. It used to make me really really down. I used to put loads of makeup on to try and cover it,” she added.
“I was so upset with my face and so self conscious that I needed to do something about it,” she shared, adding that she visited her “skin lady” who advised her on what products to use.
Millie told those watching that they had to start making an effort, and the products she used might not work for them.
She overhauled her skincare routine, and said she now has a morning and night routine, as well as cleansing her body “from the inside out”.
“I hope you all enjoy this part 1 of my skin series!” she wrote in the caption on the video.
“This video has been so highly requested so I hope I've covered everything you guys wanted to know about my skin journey. Stay tuned for part 2 next week and remember, you are all beautiful no matter what your skin looks like,” Millie added.
