Love Island's new presenter Maya Jama has shared snaps from the EMAs last night (November 13) as she celebrated the MTV Europe Music Awards at the PSD Bank Dome in Duesseldorf, Germany. Bristol's Maya, who presented an award, looked as glamorous as ever as she shared selfies on Instagram alongside Leomie Anderson.
Maya Jama's ex-boyfriend Stormzy also attended the EMAs where he began documenting the event on his Instagram story. The rapper, who became an honorary graduate at Exeter University, excitedly shared a selfie with singer-songwriter Taylor Swift.
The rapper, who is clearly a big fan of Taylor, said in an Instagram video: "Mans tryna get a selfie with Taylor Swift. I'm looking for Taylor Swift. Taylor where are you? I want a selfie Taylor!
"Trying to get a selfie with Taylor Swift, mans running around." Fortunately it appears that Stormzy's mission was a success as the star went on to post a picture of himself with Red singer.
Although Maya and Stormzy did not share any pictures together, Bristol Live previously reported that Stormzy fans have begged Maya Jama to take the rapper back after he 'released a song about her'.
After being introduced to one another in 2014 and making things official in 2015, Maya and Stormzy called it quits over three years ago, in 2019.
Both parties remained relatively quiet about their break up until recently, when Stormzy told Louis Theroux that splitting from Maya, who grew up in Bristol, was 'like actual death'. Since Stormzy opened up about the split, the former couple were spotted together at a Kendrick Lamar concert earlier this week, where they stood beside each other and embraced one another.
And now, fans have been left swooning as the 29-year-old rapper has released a slow, tender track, titled 'Firebabe'. The song centres on Stormzy being completely lovestruck and infatuated by his 'firebabe', who is his 'miracle', 'happy place', and 'heart and soul'.
Eagle-eyed listeners have suggested that 28-year-old Maya is the muse for the rapper's latest release, due to a detail in the title of the song. Taking to Twitter, fans have said they 'know' the Bristolian Love Island presenter is the subject of the song, with one claiming her star sign gives it away.
Stormzy's latest release comes a few months after reports of Maya splitting from her fiancé Ben Simmons, who she got engaged to in December 2021. The couple are believed to have split after having a 'difficult time' due to their conflicting, busy schedules
