Love Island's Liam Reardon thanks fans for support after hospital dash in new update

Love Island' s Liam Reardon has updated fans after a nasty injury saw him taken to hospital.

The Merthyr-born reality star, who rose to fame after winning Love Island 2021 alongside girlfriend Millie Court, revealed he had wound up in a&e after an attempt to cook a romantic meal resulted in a horrific burn.

Liam was whipping up dinner for Millie when he accidentally tipped boiling oil over his foot, reports The Mirror.

The 22-year-old initially shared his painful-looking injury with his one million followers and asked for advice before taking himself to the hospital when the blisters got worse.

"It's getting worse. Any recommendations? And yes I have hairy toes," Liam wrote on the social media platform.

He later revealed he had headed to the hospital after advice from NHS medics.

"Thanks to everyone for your messages giving advice. I really found it helpful. Keeping my foot in cold water for 20 minutes made a massive difference to the burn," Liam explained on his Instagram stories.

"Spoke to 111 this morning and they said to go to the hospital. So I got there at 11.30 and it could be another few hours of waiting."

He continued: "They're very busy which I understand so I asked the doctor if I could treat it myself as I don't want to waste their time but apparently no. I'm going to Dublin tomorrow for a few days so I need to get it sorted."

Liam later added more gruesome details from the waiting room, sharing a picture of his foot he wrote: "One of the blisters burst and shot fluid all over my slider when walking into the hospital."

As promised, on Thursday morning [March 17] Liam provided an update and thanked fans again for their support.

"Update on the foot," he wrote. "They drained the blisters and covered my foot up in plasters at a&e. All sorted now. Thank you to everyone who messages again."
