Jacques O'Neill bid an emotional farewell as he left the Love Island villa during Tuesday night's episode, leaving his mum "feeling down".
The rugby player, 23, made the decision to leave the ITV2 show after realising he couldn't be the best version of himself while living in the Spanish villa.
His mum, Janet Wright, took to Instagram on Tuesday to share a picture of a present her daughter gave her after she was left feeling upset seeing Jacques having a hard time on the show.
Jacques' sister, Becca, had bought her mum a cute bouquet of rainbow coloured flowers as well as a vase to put them in and two boxes of chocolates.
Janet captioned the picture: "When your feeling down and my daughter sends this love you becca and sophie xx."
Many people then commented to offer their well wishes and tell Janet how much they had enjoyed watching her son in the villa.
One person wrote: "Positive thoughts doll , Jacques is doing amazing , love how much he keeps referring to you 'his mum'."
Another said: "I just hope Jacques is okay mentally. It's really sad seeing him leave. Will miss him, wishing him the very best on the outside."
A third commented: "You can be proud of your boy."
Jacques' mum later shared a montage video of his time in the villa and wrote: "He is home."
In the comments section, she said Jacques would be back on social media on Thursday. His family have not made a comment about the shock exit on his Instagram page.
In Tuesday's episode, Jacques broke down to Paige Thorne, who he had been coupled up with, as he revealed his reason for heading home.
"You mean so much to me, you know that. I've been trying to put a brave face on but things are getting to me," he said as he fought back tears.
He added: "Basically, like, I just wish I could finish my journey off with you in here, but I'm gonna go home today.
"I still want you to enjoy your time in here, just do what you need to do and listen, I'll be waiting for you. Just do what you have to do, don't even think about me."
A teary Paige said: "Obviously I want you to be happy and it hurts me seeing you this way."
"I just know for us to work I need to get back to myself and the only way I'm gonna get back to myself is going home, so that's what I'm gonna do coz I can't carry on like this," Jacques then admitted.
Love Island continues at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub.
