Love Island hit with 'extreme weather warning' as temperatures set to reach scorching levels

Love Island is said to be facing an "extreme weather warning" as temperatures are set to reach scorching heights in Mallorca.

The ITV2 show's 2022 series is set to launch this evening, complete with a brand new set of sexy singletons hoping to find love.

While most will be looking forward to topping up their tans, they might end up being forced to hide in the shade as a heatwave is in store Spanish island.

It has been reported by meteorologists that there is a 70% chance that temperatures will reach baking heats of 40C.

The intense heat could cause issues with filming as it is 10C hotter than it usually is at this time of year.

Spanish weather forecaster Silvia Laplana has shared a map detailing the rise in temperatures across the country.

She wrote: "The heat will increase throughout the week. These are above average temperatures for this time of year."

Local authorities are reported to have launched an emergency heat prevention plan, which will remain in place until September 15.

Meanwhile, tonight's episode will see the Islanders meet for the first time - but a bombshell arrival will spark chaos on the show.

After each of the couples are coupled up - in pairings chosen for the first time by the public - new boy Davide makes his entrance.

The girls are shocked by the sudden entrance, with Indiyah saying: "When I saw him, I was very confused because I had no warning but he is very good looking!"

But the boys were less happy about the arrival, with Luca saying: “Davide! I was thinking I’m the good-looking Italian here and then you’ve sent that geezer through the door."
