Love Island fans back Summer as she calls out 'disrespectful' Dami over 'fake' claims

Love Island 's Summer Botwe had the backing of fans on Sunday night, when she dragged Dami Hope for his comments towards her.

After trying to downplay their Casa Amor romance and seemingly blaming her for the flirting and other things that went on, Dami was trying to convince Indiyah Polack that he hadn't led Summer to believe they had a chance together.

Summer then pointed out how they behaved together and the things that he said to her, making it seem there could be a romance for them - not to mention the fact he stuck with her over Indiyah.

Indiyah and Dami have since reunited, but Movie Night threatened the couple when she found out what he'd got up to with Summer.

As the pair spoke, Dami called Summer to join them hoping she would tell Indiyah that she didn't see them as anything serious - but Summer made it clear he gave her hope they would become a couple.

Summer said before leaving: "If your heart was with Indiyah, Dami, then you shouldn't have behaved with me how you did at Casa. And that's just straight facts."

Dami responded: "Cool. Cool. I actually thought you were real you know, but you're actually fake."

Summer turned back and said: "I can't lie that is very f***ing shady, cos you were literally saying to me you felt like you had a connection with me, so don't piss me the f**k off."

Dami claimed he was being "genuine" before proceeding to repeatedly tell Summer to "shut up".

Viewers backed Summer after the row, as many slammed Dami for the way he spoke to her.

One fan wrote on Twitter : "Glad Summer stuck up for herself, Dami is trash!"

Another agreed: "I’m glad Summer stuck up for herself but Dami is so disrespectful bearing in mind he called her over in the first place."

A third viewer tweeted: "Dami you did NOT need to go off on Summer and tell her to shut up when YOU called her over???" as a fourth wrote: "I’m glad Summer actually defended herself."

It comes after former Islander Jacques O’Neill spoke about his exit from the show, and claimed the vila “broke him”.

Jacques quit the villa after a heated exchange between him and Paige Thorne, as he clashed with new boy Adam Collard.

He has since spoken out, saying he "couldn't cope" in the villa, and that the show "broke" him - while revealing his fears things would get "physical" between him and Adam.

Revealing he was "sobbing" constantly and that he "got in a rut", Jacques opened up about his ADHD and said doing the series was "the worst decision of his life".

Speaking to The Sun, Jacques said: "I was ready to break down. I was feeling so mentally drained, I just wanted to go home and get myself right.

"It broke me and I was already broken. I was crying my eyes out. I couldn’t cope. I was literally feeling awful. It was the worst I’d ever felt in my life."

He added that he "couldn’t cope" in the villa, and said: "Doing Love Island was the worst decision of my life."

On heated moments on the show, Jacques admitted: "Any little thing in the villa, in the end, started bothering me and I was just getting in so much of a rut.

"I know the way I spoke to Paige was wrong. I tried to apologise and she kept asking why I did it. ADHD isn’t just about not being able to concentrate. It’s also about feeling anxious quite a lot, being on edge a lot."

ITV responded to Jacques' comments, and a spokesperson told The Mirror: "We cannot comment on any individual's medical records owing to confidentiality and our own duty of care towards the Islanders, however we have rigorous and extensive checks in place to assess Islanders' physical and mental health in advance of being cleared to enter the Villa.

"This is something we take extremely seriously. As we said at the time, Jacques made the decision to leave and we respected that decision.

"Islanders are welcome to leave should they choose to do so and we would never put pressure on someone to stay in the Villa."

Love Island airs every night at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub.
