Maya Jama has opened up on all things Love Island after taking over hosting duties from Laura Whitmore. The presenter will launch the winter edition of the popular dating show on Monday, January 16 alongside 10 brand new contestants all hoping to be lucky in love.
Those taking part include Anna-May Robey from Swansea, who joins Michelle Keegan body double Olivia Hawkins, farmer and TikTok star Will Young, and student and influencer Tanya Manhenga in the South African villa.
Also in the 2023 line-up are science and PE teacher Kai Fagan, makeup artist Lana Jenkins, financial advisor Ron Hall, hair stylist Tanyel Revan, airport security officer Shaq Muhammad, and TV salesman Haris Namani. You can see the Love Island 2023 line-up in full here.

No doubt there'll be plenty of late additions on the way, and following last year's first, which saw season four bombshell Adam Collard return to the show, Maya has shared who she would like to see return to the villa and why. Speaking before her Love Island debut, Maya said: "Theo! I found him hilarious. That line about 'leave with them'- it was that.
"We were all feeling it and Theo actually said it. You need that honesty sometimes!" Theo Campbell featured in season three of the reality television show and found himself in a bit of drama after showing interest in Tyler Carr despite her being coupled up with Jonny Mitchell.
Maya also hinted at the return of Casa Amor, asked if she wanted to see the challenge make a comeback, Maya said: "Yeah 100%. I feel like that’s one of the best moments. We’d all secretly want to know what our partner gets up to when they’re on a lads’ or girls’ holiday."
Asked what makes a good islander, Maya explained: "Someone that’s looking for love, someone with a lively personality, somebody who is open and shares their feelings, but also someone that’s not afraid to keep their options open and test the waters.
"Just someone that’s willing to get stuck in and get fully involved in every bit of the experience and all the challenges. Make the most of it! And allow it to be a proper test and see if your relationship can carry on through that, rather than play it safe. I think that’s what makes the best Islander."
