Spotted: Lottie London’s latest makeup collection inspired by none other than… Gossip Girl.
It’s been 15 years since Upper East Siders Serena Van Der Woodsen, Blair Waldorf, Nate Archibald and Chuck Bass first appeared on our screens - and I’m still shocked at the reveal of who Gossip Girl was.
And the original American teen drama was so popular in the noughties, it got its own reboot in 2021, with the second half of the series launching later this year.
And to celebrate the iconic show, Lottie London have launched the xo Gossip Girl collection inspired by on-off best friends Blair and Serena, played by Leighton Meester and Blake Lively.
If there was ever one thing we were talking about more than Blair’s headbands or Serena’s style choices - it was how they achieved their makeup looks.
The secret they never did tell has now been revealed by Lottie London in the form of two eyeshadow palettes, two lip duos and two liquid blushers.
The gen-z focused line has been launched in partnership with Warner Bros.Consumer Products and “encourages besties to celebrate the differences that make them the perfect duo just like Serena and Blair”, says Lottie London.
I tried the Blair Waldorf inspired set, which comes in a deep pink packaging.
The 12-pan shadow palette, called It Girl, costs just £7.95, which is really affordable, synergistic with the rest of Lottie London’s creations.
It Girl sees a combination of rich gold blends, highly pigmented metallics, and blendable warm browns and bronzes to achieve a flirtatious Fifth Avenue ‘evening glamour at the plaza’ vibes.
Meanwhile, Serena’s palette ‘You Know You Love Me’ - named after one of Gossip Girl’s most used phrases, features mauves, purples and shimmers.
A glossy lip is a must on the Upper East Side, offering the perfect pout whilst sitting on the steps of the Met.
The Forever Kit lipstick and lipgloss duo is also £7.95, and Blair’s is called ‘3 words’, which makes sense when standing next to Serena’s ‘8 letters’. It’s what Blair says to Chuck Bass in a bid to get the commitment-phobe to declare his love.
The lipstick is quite lightweight but gives a real pop of colour that will be the talk of the town when Gossip Girl catches wind of it. The gloss also contains hyaluronic acid, making it comfortable to wear and quite hydrating, too.
Liquid blushes allow for that super dewy, fresh faced look that Blair was known for - that girl was never spotted looking anything other than glowing.
The two Sweet Blush liquid blushers come in the shades ‘Say It’ and ‘I’m Yours’, the line that comes straight after ‘three words, eight letters’.
The Say It blush provides a healthy pop of colour on the cheeks and blends really well, giving that youthful flish Blair was envied for.
