A lorry driver has been jailed for 12 years after he ploughed into a broken-down car killing three people. Michal Kopaniarz had previously been watching a seven-minute Ladbible video and typing on a sat-nav app on his mobile phone.
Kopaniarz had previously pleaded guilty to three charges of causing death by dangerous driving in connection with the four-vehicle crash. The incident took place on the A303 near Andover, Hampshire, on August 25, 2021.
The 39-year-old also admitted perverting the course of justice by breaking the Samsung mobile phone he used at the time. University graduate Alex Britton, 28, food delivery driver Tina Ince, 58, and recovery driver Tom Watson, 30, died of “catastrophic injuries”, reports PA.
