Just weeks after being sent home sick from her own show, it appears Lorraine Kelly's health woes have returned. The presenter was due back at the helm of her self-titled ITV show on Thursday (March 16), however, there was a major problem when she appeared for her usual appearance on Good Morning Britain.
The TV star appears during the ITV news programme, which airs from 6am until 9am when Lorraine's show starts, to tease what is coming up in her hour-long show. Today, she was ready to join hosts Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway via video link from the neighbouring studio when Dr Hilary Jones had to step in.
"Lorraine's here at nine o'clock but if you follow her on Twitter, you'll know there are issues going on so I'll ask this trepidatiously?... " Kate was heard saying as Lorraine appeared from her usual spot but she was holding up a sign.
"Lorraine!" Kate gasped as she and Ben leant forward in a bid to read what the sign said. It read: "I've lost my voice. Hilary, can you take over?" Upon reading the message Kate said, "Dr Hilary, are you there?" to which the show's resident GP appeared and was on-hand to introduce what was coming up.
He told fans how he would be assisted by Dr Amir when the show begins at 9am. Meanwhile Kate and Ben appeared amused by the use of the sign, as Lorraine flipped it over to show it say: "See you at 9," as Kate quipped: "I'll be like watching it on subtitles."
It came after she shared on Twitter: "HELP! I’ve lost my voice - any cures that have worked for you (and yes - well aware some might say me not able to talk can only be a blessing)." She did, however, soldier on and appeared for her programme with a slightly hoarse voice.
At the end of last month, Lorraine headed into work as normal but was actually forced to leave before going live on air after falling ill. The Scottish TV star confirmed she wouldn't be on her show after she failed to show up for her usual mid-show crossover with GMB to tease what was coming up on her show.
Taking to Twitter, Lorraine confirmed she was unwell with a "hideous" bug and was gutted to miss her planned interview with Queen star Adam Lambert.
"When you have to be sent home from work early in the morning because you are suddenly attacked by a hideous bug and were looking forward to interviewing @adamlambert THAT!" the 63-year-old typed on social media. She then added: "Beyond disappointed but imagine if I had infected him !!!!!!" before the well wishes came flooding in from her famous pals and caring followers.
