Loose Women's Linda Robson said she was fat-shamed in a café by a woman while she was eating.
Hosting today's show, Coleen Nolan turned the conversation to a rude caller who body-shamed BBC Look North's, Amanda Harper. The caller rang the show to declare they felt Amanda looked "thick set" and matronly".
Disgusted by the comments, the panel agreed people are too comfortable condemning people's weight, especially those who are in the public eye. Carol McGiffin added she believes a lot of the comments are due to social media and magazines consistently putting women down for their bodies.

She said: "A lot of today's magazines are trying to disgrace people. They used to be lovely but they're now full of such horrible pictures of all of us." She added she doesn't believe there should ever be a time to comment on someone's weight, especially if it touches on the topic of "too big or too small".
Admitting she was on the receiving end of derogatory comments, Linda Robson told her co-hosts of when a stranger commented on her own weight. She said: "I remember years ago being in a cafe and we ordered some lunch, I can't remember what we ordered, burger and chips or something, and some woman comes marching up over."
Linda points away from the panel, suggesting the stranger was using another woman as an example, adding: "She goes 'you don't want to eat that otherwise you'll end up looking like her'. And I won't tell you what I said back to the woman because it's daytime but it wasn't very nice."
Coleen followed the anecdote by gasping and adding it was "terrible that people think they can get away with it". Brenda Edwards ended the conversation by saying in her culture Black women are celebrated for their bodies, labelling women as "tick set, meaning thick without the H" as a way to empower their shapes and curves.
