Loose Women's Denise Welch sends furious message to Jet2 and demands answers

Denise Welch has taken to Twitter to vent her anger at Jet2 after her flight was delayed by more than seven hours.

The Loose Women star was due to fly to Venice at 7.55am on Thursday (June 9) and had planned ahead by dropping her baggage off at the airport the night before. But her efforts proved unfruitful as she discovered her flight had been delayed until at least 3.15pm.

And Denise appeared to be furious at time being chipped away from her June break, reports Chronicle Live. She demanded an explanation from the airline and, tagging them in her tweet, fumed: "Please @Jet2tweets tell us why our 07.55 to Venice is delayed til 15.15!!! WTF!!! Dropped bags off last night to save time!!!!!"

Jet2 had not replied to Denise at the time of writing, but plenty of others got in on the conversation. @Bridgesears71 said: "This is one of those attention tweets to let everyone know that you're going to Venice as, unless you've been living under a rock, you would know that this is currently the norm at airports right now."

@amanda_medhurst said people should be holidaying in the UK, rather than travelling abroad. "It is a risk you take right now to go abroad for your holiday instead of enjoying a holiday in your own country. Travel industry just isn't ready for you all..."

"Haven't you been watching the news?? You're lucky you still have a flight," said @WelshNish.

Denise's travel trouble comes as passengers continue to be faced with cancellations, long queues and delays at terminals across the country. Experts have warned the disruption will hit family holidays this summer and could continue for 18 months.
