Coleen Nolan was shocked during an episode of Loose Women on Tuesday when the programme's anchor Kaye Adams asked about the singer's weight. The panel, which also included Brenda Edwards and Katie Piper, were discussing body image after fashion designer Victoria Beckham’s recent comments, describing the desire to be very thin as an “old fashioned attitude”.
It comes as the former Spice Girl launches her new VB Body shapewear collection. "It's an old-fashioned attitude wanting to be really thin," 48-year-old Victoria told Grazia Magazine, "I think women today want to look healthy, and curvy. They want to have some boobs - and a bum."
During the conversation between the four women on the ITV show, on May 17, Kaye turned to Coleen and unexpectedly asked her about her weight, OK Magazine reports. Kaye queried: “So where are you at then? Because you go up and down,”.
Coleen turned to face her, looking shocked and replied: "Alright Kaye!". The singer and TV personality quickly laughed off the comment as Kaye apologised profusely and said: "No I don't mean that.. Sorry, no no I didn't mean it. I meant emotionally is what I meant" while Katie Piper said: "She's calling us all out today!".
Coleen then added: “No I have, I really have, I mean if you look back over the years of this show there's such a difference every season. Every season is like a different me. I'm at a really good place in my life because I've decided, I’ve done every everything. And I always ended up being back to where I was at the beginning. But since I've just changed my eating habits and it's been about health, I’ve dropped a lot of weight and it's maintained it... at the moment I feel great".
Kaye also noted the way her own thoughts on body image adding: "I was brought up for most of my adult life with 'thin is good' and it's seeped into my bones. And I’ve got to be honest about that".
