Loose Women's Coleen Nolan admits her 'guilt' for 'awkward' moment with Brenda Edwards

Coleen Nolan has admitted her guilt at not supporting her “best friend” Brenda Edwards in her latest career move.

The singer told how she came to the decision to let her pal down on today’s episode of Loose Women.

She confessed that she’s not going to watch Brenda perform in her pantomime, Snow White, tomorrow evening – despite a host of Loose panellists turning out to support the star.

Coleen told how she had opted to go home to Cheshire while the other women on the panel were set to attend to support their friend and colleague.

Brenda takes a swipe at Coleen for not coming to her panto with other Loose Women tomorrow night (ITV)

Coleen admitted: "Now, Brenda. Me and you had a bit of an awkward moment today because the thing is you've just started panto and there's a big Loose Women outing going isn't there? Everyone's going even Janet...."

She continued: "So the reason that it was an awkward situation is because I'm one of your besties and I feel bad because I'm not going."

The studio audience let out a resounding “ooooh,” before Coleen interrupted them and attempted to excuse her decision.

She said: "Let me explain. So tomorrow after the show I go home to Cheshire so... I'm going home. But it doesn't mean I don't love you.

"And it's panto.... I'm not even going to my sister's panto to be honest with you and she is half an hour away. But it's that guilt of saying no isn't it?"

Brenda pretended to not to care as she fluffed her hair (ITV)

Brenda jokingly pretended not to care as she said: “It’s quite alright, Coleen,” while fluffing her hair.

Janet Street-Porter chimed in to stir the pot, telling how she was travelling two hours on the tube, from one side of London to the other, to support their friend, in an effort to make Coleen feel bad about her decision.

“You see! Out of her way to come and support me!” Brenda pointed out.

Janet was hailed a “saint” by Linda Robson, before quickly becoming suspicious of the compliment.

The topic of conversation then turned to it being ok to say no to people when you do want to go somewhere.

Loose Women airs weekdays from 12.30pm on ITV and ITVX
