Brenda Edwards shared her son Jamal's final moments before his sudden death in February as she made an emotional return to Loose Women on Monday.
The entertainment world was rocked by the news that broke late on Sunday night that Jamal, founder of SBTV, had passed away suddenly at home at the age of just 31. In her statement about his death, mum Brenda wrote: "It is with deepest heartache that I confirm that my beautiful son Jamal Edwards passed away yesterday morning after a sudden illness,” she wrote.
“Myself, his sister Tanisha and the rest of his family and friends are completely devastated. He was the centre of our world. As we come to terms with his passing, we ask for privacy to grieve this unimaginable loss. I would like to thank everyone for their messages of love and support.”

Days after Jamal's death, Brenda sang The Greatest Love of All at a vigil in honour of her son, in an incredibly moving clip shared widely online and shown on Loose Women.. And, after months away, X Factor contestant turned musical star Brenda, was back on the ITV show as it kicked off a new week. While she wasn't actually in the studio, Brenda filmed a candid chat with her co-star Coleen Nola n, sharing how she held Jamal's death as he passed.
Asked how she was coping now, Brenda said: "I’m doing okay. The way I’m looking at it - I’m taking each day as it comes. The one thing that I do want to say is I was with him and his sister was with us, we were all at home. It was sudden and it was unexpected and he went into cardiac arrest. Then he passed with me holding his hand, so I get a little bit of comfort from knowing I was with him.”
Brenda added, “As much as that is comfort, at the same time, it’s a vision that I’m never going to forget. When I wake up every morning - all of his photos are still obviously in the house - and I look at him and say, ‘Good morning, baby’ and ‘Good night, baby’. And I think doing that is what’s keeping me going.
"He always had this lovely, bright smile, just used to light up. He had this funny laugh. I feel his presence constantly and I know I’ve always been somebody who has faith and who believes in that and that has been a massive comfort to me.”
