Loose Women is set to welcome a new team member from Monday as Dame Kelly Holmes has announced she is joining the show as a permanent panellist.
Following a recent guest appearance on the ITV daytime show, Dame Kelly called in during Wednesday's episode to reveal the news to viewers, where she described the move as an “adrenaline rush.” She also took to Instagram to share the "big announcement," saying: "I am joining the wonderful team on @loosewomen starting Monday 12th and I can’t wait!!
"This will be completely different to anything I have done before. I am so excited to be able to talk about so many different topics!”

The Olympic gold medallist suggested she would not have been open to the opportunity if she had not made her ITV documentary, Kelly Holmes: Being Me, saying she was "so happy" with the move. Addressing her fellow panellists, she added: “Ladies the whirlwind is about to descend!"

Loose Women star Linda Robson – who this year marks a decade on the show – revealed she had met her new colleague several weeks ago to discuss the show’s schedule. Fans quickly took to social media to congratulate the former Olympian on the news.
One said: “Absolutely brilliant so excited for you.”
“Congrats! So exciting,” another added.
Dame Kelly’s new co-stars also welcomed her to the “Loose family,” as Katie Piper said: “Excellent! Really looking forward to working with you.”
Denise Welch simply said: “Can’t wait,” followed by three heart emojis.
