The Georgia Bulldogs are 4-0 in school history against the TCU Horned Frogs. Georgia last defeated TCU in the 2016 Liberty Bowl. Additionally, the Bulldogs played TCU in 1988, 1980, and 1941.
Georgia ended up winning a national championship thanks to Herschel Walker’s heroics back in 1980. That year, Georgia defeated TCU 34-3 in Athens. Georgia has never played at TCU.
The 2016 Liberty Bowl, which was played in Memphis, Tennessee, was Kirby Smart’s first bowl game as the head coach at the University of Georgia. Smart and Georgia finished with an 8-5 record back in 2016. TCU finished 6-7 under legendary Horned Frogs head coach Gary Patterson.
Georgia used a victory in the Liberty Bowl to build some momentum for the 2017 season. The Bulldogs returned Nick Chubb and Sony Michel and won a SEC championship in 2017 before losing in the national championship.
