Look to the stars

Jimmy Choo's creative director since 1996, Sandra Choi writes a new chapter for the London-based brand by adding jewellery to its portfolio of luxury accessories.

"It felt like the perfect time to launch this collection, our shoes and bags are often seen as items of jewellery that adorn the feet, wrists and hands and the jewellery collection is a natural extension of this," said Choi, niece of couture shoemaker Jimmy Choo.

As Choo's protégé, she learned the art of shoemaking from designing and cutting patterns to stitching and fitting. Over the years, women's shoes remained the core product, complemented by leather goods, scarves, sunglasses, eyewear, belts, fragrances and men's shoes.

The new jewellery collection underpins the core design pillars, with both statement and timeless fashion pieces designed for various occasions.

"For me the most important creative elements are light, fantasy and design expertise -- these are realised in the distinct identities that make up our design codes: crystals, pearls, monogram and stars. The jewellery collection pinpoints the fundamental visual DNA of our brand," said Choi.

Capturing, refracting and reflecting light, crystal is like a self-contained illuminator that has been with the brand since the very beginning, underlining its multifaceted identity as a jewel.

The JC Star Studs, decorated with Swarovski crystals, are shaped to resemble the signature star, while an ensemble of cuff, studs and ring is accented with pearls -- a new Jimmy Choo leitmotif.

Inspired by the interlinked logo, the JC Monogram has become a 21st century emblem and a constant reminder of the brand's meaning and value.

The golden JC monogram gleams against glossy enamel in amber orange, black, blossom pink, emerald and latte on bangles and rings.

Chain necklaces and bangles take reference from the Bon Bon handbags characterised by bracelet-top handles and tassel drawstrings.

The jewellery collection is available at Jimmy Choo Boutiques at Central Embassy, The EmQuartier and Siam Paragon.
