The Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame will honor long-time scout Sam Seale as the 2024 recipient of the Bob Harlan Leadership Award during a banquet on Aug. 29, per Cliff Christl of the team’s official site.
Seale, now the team’s National Scout, first joined the Packers in 1995. He served as the West Regional Scout from 2012-17 before being promoted to National Scout in 2018. The majority of his scouting for the Packers has been based on the West Coast.
In 2017, Seale was honored as the NFC Scout of the Year by the Fritz Pollard Alliance. The year prior, the Packers made five draft picks of players in Seale’s region, including first-round pick Kenny Clark.
Seale, who just completed his 28th season with the Packers, worked and scouted under Packers general managers Ron Wolf, Mike Sherman, Ted Thompson and Brian Gutekunst. Wolf originally brought Seale to the Packers in 1995.
Among the players scouted by Seale to end up in Green Bay and thrive are Clark, Aaron Rodgers, Davante Adams and Clay Matthews.
Seale will enter his seventh season as the National Scout under Gutekunst in 2024.
