London travel news LIVE: Major disruption to Waterloo trains until end of day after death at Raynes Park station

Trains in and out of London Waterloo are facing major disruption until the end of the day after a person died at Raynes Park station.

National Rail says lines closed between between Surbiton and Wimbledon following the incident have now reopened, but there will still be deisruption to services into the evening.

Trains may be severely delayed by up to 60 minutes, cancelled or revised.

British Transport Police confirmed that officers were called to the station at 1.52pm following reports of a casualty on the tracks. The person was announced dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, Victoria line passengers on the London Underground are facing severe delays also due to a earlier casualty on the track.

British Transport Police have confirmed that an individual died following the incident at Raynes Park station shortly before 2pm today.

They confirmed that officers were called to the station at 1.52pm following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

A spokesperson said: "Paramedics also attended and sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.

“This incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."

Surbiton - Wimbledon disruption expected until at least 10pm

Services between Kings Lynn, Ely, Cambridge, Royston, Letchworth Garden City, Peterborough and London King’s Cross are recovering following disruption caused by overrunning engineering works at Hitchin.

Some trains may still be cancelled, delayed by up to 30 minutes, or revised as services resume.

Disruption is expected to continue until 09:15am.

A40 Westway closed eastbound for TfL works

Drivers are being advised to use alternative routes after the eastbound A40 Westway was closed for planned works.

The A40 Westway is shut eastbound between Westway Roundabout and Marylebone Flyover for joint replacement works.

TfL says traffic is flowing well on diversion routes, but motorists should allow extra time for their journeys.
