London set to be hit by rain as rest of UK could see thunder in ominous St Swithin’s Day forecast

London is set for rain on Monday in a bad omen for weather this summer according to the legend of St Swithin’s Day - with other parts of the country also set for heavy rain.

The Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for rain between 8am and 11.59pm on Monday ahead of forecast downpours of up to 40mm over the course of a few hours.
