Logan Paul calls on Canelo Alvarez to fight brother Jake after surprise defeat

Logan Paul believes it is time for Canelo Alvarez to fight his brother Jake after the Mexican suffered a shock defeat at the hands of Dmitry Bivol.

Alvarez returned to the light-heavyweight division in a bid to become two-time champion but fell to a convincing points defeat. Alvarez has been called out by Paul's brother Jake on multiple occasions, with the YouTube star planning to share the ring with him before the end of his career.

Paul has now called for his brother to be handed a shot after Alvarez's defeat, tweeting: "Alright Canelo it is time to fight Jake Paul." The younger Paul sibling was subject to plenty of talk in the build-up to their fight with Alvarez asked about staging a fight in the future.

He has fought five times in his professional career having defeated the likes of former UFC stars Tyron Woodley and Ben Askren. His ring return has been announced for August 13 but any fight with Alvarez would be years down the line.

Paul quickly leapt to mock the Mexican after he was outpointed by Bivol in 'Sin City' and believes he would be able to beat the former pound-for-pound king in three years. "And just like that Canelo Alvarez loses to Dmitry Bivol," he said in a video posted on social media. "An amazing fight by Bivol. I'm two inches bigger than Bivol and 40lb heavier.

"Give me three years and I take out Canelo in the same way. He was up on the ropes like he won but he only won three rounds in the entire fight. Eddie Hearn, f*** you, you can suck my d***. I'm coming and I'm beating Canelo in three f***ing years, I put that on my mama.

"Congrats to Dmitry Bivol, he showed Canelo is easily beatable by a bigger man which is what I've known for a long time. Believe in yourself and don't listen to those British s***bags like Eddie Hearn."

Alvarez is set to demand a rematch with Bivol after confirming his intentions to activate the clause in his contract but the pound-for-pound great has refused to rule out the possibility of trading blows with Paul. "The thing I'm thinking is why do you guys ask me about that fight?," Alvarez said. "Maybe in two years we can talk, in two years we'll see. I hope he does a really good job and improves in. boxing, I say this seriously. He brings more fans to boxing and he's not crazy, it's fine to dream for something. You need to put goals in your mind and dream, it's ok. It's good to dream."

Paul had previously suggested he would like to fight Alvarez in the final fight of his career as he plans to become world champion before hanging up his gloves.
