Location, Location, Location, the beloved house-hunting show, is coming to a free-to-air TV this month and will be hosted by former winners of The Block.
Last year, Paramount announced the show would be coming to Channel 10 in June. The release date has now been confirmed as June 30.
Many would be familiar with the format of the show, which sees the hosts help people find their new homes. This season will take place in Sydney and Melbourne.
Location, Location, Location will be hosted by the 2021 winners of The Block, Mitch Edwards and Mark McKie
The pair have been working together, buying and flipping properties for nearly two decades, “transforming some 20 properties from undesirable abodes into highly sought after homes”.
In a press release from February this year, Paramount noted that the duo’s passion for renovating as a hobby helped launch their successful careers.
Years of hard-won experience
The two will be using their “extensive property prowess”, along with their buying, negotiating and real estate experience, to help Australians find their dream homes.
“We are so excited to be hosting Location, Location, Location,” Edwards and McKie said.
“It’s such a privilege to meet and help Aussies looking to find their new home in such a dynamic market, where hidden opportunities are just waiting to be found.”
They added they had learnt a lot from their own experiences, having searched for, bought, renovated and sold properties.
“We know how to look through the staging to see what a property is really offering, the good and the bad, and seeing the opportunities that others might not see in an ugly duckling property that you can transform into a swan,” they added.
This isn’t the first time Location, Location, Location has graced Australian screens.
From 2012 to 2014, Foxtel aired the show, making Paramount’s reboot the first time the Australian version will be on free-to-air TV.
Paramount’s executive vice-president and chief content officer, Beverley McGarvey, told Mediaweek it was interesting that Location, Location, Location had only been on pay-TV as there had always been a market for such shows.
“The property market is quite challenging at the minute, but people have to live somewhere and have to upsize or downsize or move to the country,” she said.
“That’s something that we really started looking at during COVID, when people were taking such an interest in potentially relocating. Also, it is one of those shows that repeats really well, people can come back to it and come back.”
The show originated in the UK, where the British version has been on air since 2000.
- Location, Location, Location will premiere on Channel 10 and on 10 Play on June 30 at 7.30pm.
