Locals slam 'lack of consultation' on closure of North Strand Road

Ballybough residents have said they were not consulted on plans to divert traffic to make space for cycle lanes.

The closure of traffic lanes around Fairview and the North Strand has been the subject of heated debate in recent days. The road is temporarily inaccessible to private cars in order for new cycle lanes to be built. The planned cycle route will connect Clontarf to the city centre and construction is underway as of today.

"We wanted these plans to come about in a much smaller way," one local resident told Dublin Live.
